After seeing Tony Parker on the stands for three straight days we’re finally ready to welcome some other celebrities to the French Open. Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen caught few matches in Roland Garros today and even wore Lacoste to fit in with the Parisian athletic ambiance. And since we only have about three Americans left in the draw, any Yankees on the stands are most welcome.

French women mostly let the Parisians down today (thanks for nothing, Cornet and Bartoli!), while the local dudes triumphed. In fact they scored 5 wins and 1 losses today in a very promising start to the tournament for them. Never mind that Nadal and Federer are still lurking in the draw. And Gael Monfils also provided today’s most photogenic moment while lunging for a ball in a straight set victory against some Romanian named Victor Crivoi.

Blue Blood Revolution

blueblood

The primary trend color this in Paris this season is simply blue. It doesn’t exactly take a genius to figure out that orange clay contrasts with the blues really well and Ana Ivanovic, Roger Federer, and Maria Sharapova (all above) showcased the color beautifully. Maria’s dress in particular looked like it was inspired by Alexander Wang and Chloe at the same time. Other stars to sport the shade today? Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, James Blake, and Jelena Jankovic. But we’re only up to day number 3 so more colors and clay court trends are in store.

The Pink Panther of Paris!

nadalpink

Rafael Nadal made the biggest fashion splash during the first few days in Roland Garros by…going PINK! Last year, that would have been simply impossible with his pre-set sleeveless shirts and longest shorts in all of tennis. The Spaniard not only added a collar to his outfit, but some actual color as well. And when the world #1 can go all South Beach on us, everyone should be brave enough to follow.

Royal Box has been away in Cannes for last few days, but we’re coming home soon now with all the French Open coverage you can handle. But while in the South of France, we’ve spotted a welcome face in a sea of movie stars: none other than Jelena Jankovic. The Sebian powerhouse was invited to attend amfAR’s Cinema Against AIDS Gala, widely to be considered the most prestigious annual charity event in Europe. Bill Clinton was an honorary chairman and the likes of Sharon Stone, Mike Myers, Marion Cotillard, Claudia Schiffer, and Donatalla Versace were all in attendance. Jelena stayed in Martinez and went to the huge bash with her mother, Snezana. “I literally flew in this morning, and this is my tiny one day treat before the French Open,” she told us last night in France. “I don’t think I’ve ever been so glamorized with all these diamonds and really high heels.” The Serb in fact selected a stunning 43-carat heart-shaped diamond necklace by Chopard to go along with her dress. “This is a huge event with so many celebrities and we were just honored to be invited,” she added. “I’m actually kind of nervous of what to expect when Clinton is in the room. But I know for sure that the diamonds will disappear tomorrow morning as I’ll be in Paris on a clay practice court!”
