Jay-Z has contributed to this year’s open by designing a Rocawear t-shirt to benefit the NJTL and the Arthur Ashe Endowment for the Defeat of AIDS. The design will be sold on site and at USOpen.org and ArthurAshe.org. “I am thrilled that someone of Jay-Z’s stature would take part in this project,” said Jeanne Moutoussamy-Ashe, Arthur Ashe’s widow. The tennis legend will be honored during a formal ceremony on September 10 during which he’ll be officially inducted into the US Open Court of Champions on the grounds .

Twenty years after starting his booming company, Borg underwear is the second most popular brand in Sweden (behind Calvin Klein) and the owner has some major global ambitions. The first American boutique is slated to open by SoHo and even Roger can’t compete for the records here. The Great one spoke to Royal Box about his booming business!
Do you remember of how the idea for this company first came out?
I saw a gap in the market, a comfortable, sporty, trendy product for everyday use. When we started up the brand 20 years ago, there was not really such a thing as men’s underwear in vivid bold colors. We are actually one of the founders and forerunners when it comes to sporty fashion underwear.
How challenging is it to work with this brand?
We like to challenge ourselves every day. That is our motivation, because when it comes down to it there´s no shortcuts. Success is about hard work, but you should definitely have fun while doing it.
What are your eventual goals for underwear domination?
Our humble vision is to be the best fashion underwear brand in the world.
What the hardest thing about sketching and conceptualizing?
Luckily, I have a talented design team to do that for me.
What innovations are you excited about?
We are really excited about our new concept for her. It is called “Love All”. This is our new “quick and accessible” hipster, which will be available in 10 exclusive colors.
Who should wear Bjorn Borg?
Everyone and Everybody! Our typically consumer is about 18-25 (at least in their minds). They are outgoing and playful. Just as the brand itself.
Is it weird to have your name print on millions of pairs of panties?

Roger Federer’s lucky charm, Anna Wintour is once again heading to London to cheer for the Swiss and then to couture. To our knowledge, the great one hasn’t actually yet lost a match in front of the Vogue editrix and lucky for him Parisian couture shows don’t start until July 6, the day after the men’s final.
Four days before Wimbledon even began; Maria Sharapova was already in an all-white spirit. The statuesque Grand Slam winner wore a PPQ jumpsuit with Chloe rope belt, and Tiffany jewelry to the Sony Ericsson event. And earlier today, she didn’t disappoint with a beautifully structured white trench outfit that she debuted on Court 1.
You’ve voted for the ladies earlier this week and now it’s time to focus on the guys. And overall women have been more impressive on the style front this season. Roger Federer started focusing more on his second serve percentages than monograms this year, while Rafael Nadal shocked us all by abandoning his sleeveless warrior get-up altogether in Australia. Juan Martin del Potro on the other hand embraced the look, while many men of Adidas have struggled to coordinate their outfits so not to confuse casual fans. But we still have our eight favorites and we’re hoping that Paris, London, and New York might still bring out the best in these men. But of course the ATP top 5 has never looked more solid in terms of rankings. So, sometimes you can’t have it all!

We have to say: here at Royal Box we’re really fond of newlyweds Andy Roddick and Brooklyn Decker. And not just because their genetic pool is better than yours. They live few blocks from our offices in New York, sip coffee at our local Starbucks, and sometimes do crunches at the Equinox around the corner. When you love New York this much who needs to travel to Europe for all that clay? Nadal will win everything anyway until June. Instead, Roddick and his lovely model bride are going to tonight’s Met Costume Institute Ball with designer Derek Lam. The party is commonly known as the East Coast Oscars. Everyone will be there tonight: Madonna, Victoria Beckham, Kate Hudson, Gisele, Donatella Versace, Tom Ford, Anne Hathaway, Marc Jacobs and about about 200 other names we have no patience to mention. It kind of beats last night’s closing night pasta reception in Rome.
We miss Maria Sharapova on a tennis court. And we’re not just talking about those determined grunts or brilliantly timed forehand smashes. Sharapova is perhaps the only female player on tour who actually met Tom Ford or knows what Thakooon is. She does her homework, flips through her magazines, and brings that dapper IQ to court. Unfortunately, she only had one on-court outfit this year during a doubles match with Elena Vesnina at Indian Wells. They lost a close one and we were forced to deal only with her event appearances. And then we noticed a trend: Sharapova is really in the cream and nude state of mind. She looked great while losing in doubles (middle), but she stood out at a recent Chloe event in Hollywood (left), and Miami player party (right).
